Hello

I am Krinos Li,
a Ph.D. student at Imperial-X, Imperial College's strategic flagship artificial intelligence initiative, and the Department of Bioengineering.

My interest in AI is in understanding how intelligence advances through expanding the range of tasks that can be meaningfully measured and improved. My long-term goal is to automate and scale this process to accelerate scientific discovery, driving progress in computing, biology, materials, and energy for the benefit of humanity.

01 / Education

I am currently a Ph.D. student at Imperial College London, advised by Dr. Guang Yang and Prof. Anil Bharath. Before coming to Imperial, I graduated from M.Sc. Machine Learning at University College London (UCL), where I was advised by Prof. Jun Wang and closely worked with Dr. Tommaso Pasini on text-to-music generation. I completed my B.S. in Computer Science and B.S. in Statistics at The Pennsylvania State University.

02 / Research

My research spans three interconnected themes:

  • Multimodal AI🪬: Pre-training and post-training for large-scale multimodal models, such as point cloud LLMs and vision-language models.
  • Agentic AI🦾: Building and harnessing LLM based agentic AI systems, such as orchestration, safety, and agentic RL.
  • AI for Life Science🔬: Developing AI-driven applications for biomedicine and healthcare, such as drug discovery for aging and radiological diagnosis

03 / Experience

I have industrial experience in both the UK and China, spanning ML research & applications as well as venture capital.
